There is lots of contradictory information out there. Is atheism “denial of the existence of gods”, or simply “not having belief in the existence of gods”? Papers and articles have been written for both options, and each has its advocates and detractors.
Is Webster Cook Guilty of Kidnapping, or a Hate Crime?
July 14, 2008 on 1:43 pm | In Atheism & religion, Humour, Philosophy | No CommentsOver the weekend I did a little informal research on the Eucharist, asking every Catholic or former Catholic I could corner about their understanding of it. The results were largely depressing, but I did get quite a bit of insight from one helpful former Catholic. Amazingly enough, despite my tongue-in-cheek critique of the rhetoric of Catholic officials, their claims are valid within the context of their beliefs! Of course, this leads to some rather amusing metaphysical and theological implications, but my immediate concern is for Webster Cook. What crimes did he commit, if any? Does he deserve punishment?
